The success of your surgery depends on the skill of the surgeon in the operating theatre, as well as your post-operative care. After you are discharged from hospital it is important to optimise the outcome of your surgery by completing the simple exercises provided, which may include some early strengthening or range of motion exercises. It is also advisable to visit your physiotherapist for re-assessment and to check your progress.
The quickest, safest and easiest way to return to normal function is by consulting a physiotherapist experienced in post-operative rehabilitation. Our physiotherapists at PhysioFit Berwick can design exercise programs that are unique to individual situations and circumstances so that you have the best chance of fully regaining your strength, flexibility and function. We will also liaise with your surgeon to find out whether there are any specific requirements following on from your surgery.
